Scorecard

I've decided to treat my finances like my own business - which, it is. Like any business, to monitor successes, you need a dashboard. So, I've posted my dashboard online to monitor my progress in real-time. Feel free to cheer me on for encouragement! I could surely use it.

The chart below visualizes my early mortgage payoff goals versus the actual progress made over time. Since my birthday is in June - I've added a bit of cushion in Year 6 to make up for any lost progress.

The chart that you see below shows you 2017's total spending categories percentages versus Dave Ramsey's recommendations. I don't necessary follow his rules to the letter, but it works for me! For example, Dave Ramsey would not recommend a vacation - but, I would.

Of course, one cannot forget about retirement during goal setting! I included the most up-to-date recommendations by age and my current progress in savings. I believe most, if not all financial experts tell you to save up to 15% of your salary a year into your retirement plan and the earlier you start, the better off you will be.
